Mother's Day
The 2nd Sunday in May is designated to the celebration of Mother’s Day. This is the day on which we share our love and show our appreciation towards our mothers and mother figures. Historically, the origin of mother’s day dates back to the ancient Greek and Roman era. However, the roots of mother’s day can also be traced to the UK where a ‘mothering Sunday’ was celebrated.
The celebration of Mother’s Day as we know it today is a recent phenomenon, and isn’t even one hundred years old. The tradition of gift giving in Australia is accredited to Janet Heyden, a resident of Leichhardt Sydney. She started a campaign in 1924 to collect and distribute gifts for lonely, aged mothers.
This Mother’s Day let us showcase and inspire you with our selection of awesome treasures sourced worldwide to celebrate and show appreciation for our mums.
Our unique gift selection includes:
- Soapstone hearts and heart trays in a variety of styles and colours
- Assorted Gemstone Hearts
- Sterling Silver Gemstone Jewellery
- Natural Amethyst, Citrine, Clear Quartz pieces
- Himalayan Salt Lamps
- Selenite Tower Lamps
- Moroccan Pottery
- Pure Quartz Singing Bowls
- Plus a lot more.
Take this special day as an opportunity to truly honour and thank your mum for their ongoing love and endless support.
